I call these sculptures Free Forms. I base the forms on lines and the expressive nature of gesture. Most of these works are low-fired or smoke fired. Low firing allows for brighter colors. Smoke firing? The kiln gods give you what they will. I also have been working with wire sculpture because it helps dimensionalize how I view lines in my paintings.
