Colorful Abstract Oil Paintings by Contemporary American Artist Philip Noyed
New decade. New work. As a runner, a practicer of yoga and the father of daughters who are dancers, I love the dynamic beauty of physical expression. The Marathon painting above was completed after I ran a Boston and Exeter Marathon qualifying time of 3:27:42. I hope it is a painting that both runners and art lovers will enjoy.
I recently found an unattributed quote: "An artist is an instrument through which the Universe reveals itself." For me, creating art is as important as breathing air. I do my best to bring to life the visions that I have discovered. Each work I make is an exploration and it reveals itself to me as I sketch and paint. No work is every really done, because it is through others viewing the work that it comes to life in their eyes, with their experience, through their logic, perception and intuition.
